Isabel Thywissen is a Vice President at DEG – GERMAN INVESTMENT AND DEVELOPMENT COMPANY, Cologne. She oversees the healthcare activities of DEG, working in the Business Innovation and Syndication Department. DEG focusses on financing Healthcare Service Providers, companies producing Medical Technology, Manufacturers of generic pharmaceuticals and Distribution and Retailing as well as private Medical Insurance and other financing institutions for healthcare services (i. e. Health Management Organisations).
Isabel Thywissen oversees DEG’s health sector strategy and is intensely involved in the due diligence respectively structuring of the financial engagements in the sector. Transferring experiences from different countries, cultures and set-ups enriches her work. She joined DEG more than twenty years ago and has held various positions in the Latin American Department, the Credit Risk Analysis Department and the Department of Manufacturing and Services. Isabel started her career at Deloitte, Haskins & Sells in Montevideo, Uruguay. She holds an MBA of the University of Göttingen.
